It’s straight from Italy and you won’t find a better recipe! This calls for a spoonful of pecorino cheese, but you could also use all Parmesan in a pinch.
To store in the fridge for up to 1 month: place pesto in a jar, cover with olive oil, and top with a lid.
Traditionally, the authentic Pesto Genovese recipe is made with a marble mortar and pestle. It’s long and tiring work, therefore in this recipe, we will use a food processor with some tricks.
In 15 minutes you will have a very delicious pesto sauce, green and tasty!

Ingredients:
- Basil Leaves ( 2 cups)
- Pine Nuts ( 2 tbsp)
- Garlic ( 2 cloves ), roughly chopped
- Sea Salt ( 1/4 tsp)
- Extra- Virgin Olive Oil (1/2 cup)
- Parmigiano Reggiano (1/4 cup) grated to taste
- Pecorino Romano Or Sardo ( 1/4 cup)
Instructions:
Place the basil, pine nuts, garlic, and salt in a food processor and pulse until pureed into a smooth paste
Transfer to a small bowl and stir in the olive oil until evenly mixed.
Stir in the cheeses until the mixture is homogenous.
