Beef tikka is a BBQ dish, but today I am preparing it in a “Handi,” which refers to a soil pot.
The specialty of this recipe lies in making the beef tikka in a Handi.
Beef Tikka is ready within 45 minutes only.
I am using boiled beef in this recipe.

How To Make Tasty Beef Tikka Handi Pakistani Food Recipe With Step-By-Step Instructions
Ingredients
- Boneless Beef (1/2 kg), boiled
- Red Chili Powder (2 tsp)
- Green Chili Paste (1 tsp)
- Ginger & Garlic Paste (2 tsp)
- Turmeric Powder (1/2 tsp)
- Orange Food Color (1 to 2 pinches)
- Garam Masala Powder (1 tsp)
- Nutmeg Jawtri Powder (1/2 tsp)
- Coriander Powder (2 tsp)
- Paprika Powder (2 tsp)
- Garlic Powder (1 tsp)
- Black Pepper Powder (1 tsp)
- Salt to taste
- Lemon Juice (1 tsp)
- Tomato Paste (2 tbsp)
- Onion paste (1 medium-size)
- Cooking oil or Canola oil (4 to 5 tbsp) or as required
- Yogurt (1 cup)
- Cream (1/2 cup) or as required
- Fresh Green Coriander Leaves for garnishing
- Green chili slices for garnishing (2 to 3)
- Ginger Julienne for garnishing
- Onion Slices for garnishing
- Heat one piece of coal until it turns red.
- Cooking oil (1 tsp), spread on the coal
Instructions
How to boil beef
- Firstly, take the beef and cut it into bite shapes and add 1/2 tsp of salt, ginger & garlic paste then mix it with your hands
- Take a large pot add water and marinated beef in this boiling water and cook until then it becomes too tender
- Then drain the water and one cup of beef water is set aside for use in a handi (as beef stock)
How to make Handi
- Secondly, mix the spices (salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, nutmeg Jawtri powder, Paprika powder, garlic powder, green chili paste, orange food color, lemon juice, Garam masala powder, onion paste, tomato paste, yogurt) in a bowl. After that, add the boiled beef to this spice mixture.
- Marinated the beef and set aside for 15 minutes
- Take Handi and heat it when handi is hot then add cooking oil and heat the oil
- Now add marinated beef to this handi and cook until the oil becomes separate from the beef
- Add cream and cook for 3 minutes more and then turn off the flame
How to smoke the beef handi
- Place the foil paper in the center of the handi and place the heated coal on the foil paper
- Spread oil on the top of the coal and cover it immediately
- Cover for 6 to 8 minutes for the smoke of coal
- After 6 minutes remove the coal and foil paper
Garnish the beef tikka handi
- Dish out the beef handi on a decor plate
- Garnish with an onion slice, lemon wedge, green chili slices, ginger julienne
- Serve with Chapattis, raita, and Imli chutney
