Hey! Today I’m making a very special and so delicious Tasty Shahi Dal Pakistani Food Recipe at home. It is so yummy and tasty food. This is my mom’s recipe. Daal is very easy to make at home because it can easily be prepared in just 30 to 35 minutes only. This recipe is good and very healthy because Red Lentils (Masoor daal), Yellow Lentils (Mung Daal) are good nutritional food.
Shahi Daal is a famous food in India, & Pakistan. It is a good option for dinner or lunch. It can be cooked in a very little amount of time. Daal is a good taste with rice. As a kid, I used to love having this dish with rice, especially at dinner because it can make your sleep better too. The red lentils (masoor daal) are very similar but more characteristic of North America. Lentils have a lot of o benefits and are also good for healthy health.
How To make Tasty Shahi Dal Pakistani Food Recipe With Step By Step Instructions:
Ingredients:
- Masoor Dal (Red Lentil) 1/4 cup
- Moong Dal (Yellow Lentil) 1/4 cup
- Urad Dal (Black Gram Lentil) 1/4 cup
- Mash Dal (Split Black Gram Lentil ) 1/4 cup
- Chana Dal (Chickpea Lentil) 1/4 cup
- Turmeric Powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
- Butter (2 tablespoons)
- Cooking Oil (2 tablespoons)
- Ginger & Galic Chopped (1 teaspoon)
- Onion chopped (1 small size)
- Tomato (1 large size)
- Crushed Green Chili (1/2 teaspoon)
- Crushed Red Chili (1/2 teaspoon)
- Red Chili Powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Tamarind (1/2 cup)
- Garam masala powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Green Coriander for garnishing
For Tarka:
- Cooking Oil (1 tablespoon)
- Garlic sliced (2 cloves)
- Dried Red Chili (3to 4 chilies)
- Cumin Seeds (1/2 teaspoon)
Instructions:
- Take a large bowl and add all dal (lentils)
- Wash it and soak for 3 to 2 hours before cooking
- Drain all water
- Now take a pressure cooker and add lentils to it
- Add 1/2 or 1 cup of water and add turmeric powder, salt, and cover it
- Cook for 15 minutes to tender lentils
- Take a pan add butter and oil together
- Heat it and add chopped ginger garlic and stir continuously
- Now add onion and cook it until then its change the color like light golden brown
- At this point add tomato & mix well
- Add crushed green chili, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of red chili powder, 1/2 tsp of crushed red chili, and cook it
- Lentils are completely cooked then add in this curry and mix it with some water
- Add tamarind pulp and cook for 2 minutes more
- In the end, sprinkle garam masala powder, green coriander
How to Make Tarka:
- Take a pan and add cooking oil and heat it
- Now add garlic sliced, dried red chili, cumin seeds and cook for a few minutes
- Spread the Tarka into Dal
- Delicious and tasty shahi dal is ready to eat
- Serve with rice, chapattis, or naan
