How To Make Delicious Pav Bhaji Pakistani Food Recipe With Step By Step Instructions:
Pav Bhaji Masala Ingredients:
- Coriander Seeds ( 5 tsp )
- Cumin Seeds ( 3 tsp )

- Star Anise ( 5 )

- Bay Leaf ( 5 )
- Kashmiri Red Chilli ( 25 )
- Fennel Seeds ( 3 tsp )
- Kasuri Methi ( 2 tsp )
- Turmeric Powder ( 1/2 tsp )
- Ginger Powder ( 1/2 tsp )
- Hing ( 1 tsp )
- Black Salt ( 1 tsp )
- Amchur Powder ( 1 tsp )
- Salt ( 1tsp )
- Red Chillies ( 20 soaked )
- Water ( as needed )
- Garlic Cloves ( 4 cups )
- Water ( as needed )
- Water ( for boiling )
- Cauliflower ( 1 medium )
- Pea ( 4 cups )
- Turmeric Powder ( a pinch )
- Salt ( a pinch )
Instructions:
- Set a pan on low heat. Once it heats up add coriander seeds, add cumin seeds and cook them for 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, add whole spices and cook them on low flame.
- Once the fragrant is coming add Kasuri methi at the last stage and cook for 5 seconds.
- Transfer the cooked apices over a plate and let it be cool down to room temperature.
- Now, transfer in a grinding jar and add all cooked spices. Grind into a fine powder.
- Pav Bhaji masala is ready.
- Store pav bhaji masala in an airtight jar.
- Take a mixer grinder, add soaked red chilies, add water as needed.

- Onion ( medium size chopped 3 )
- Capsicum ( medium size chopped 2 )
- Potatoes ( 8 mashed and boiled )
- Cumin Seeds ( 2 tsp )
- Tomatoes ( 8 medium sizes chopped )
- Green Peas ( boiled )
- Cauliflower ( boiled )
- Beetroot ( 1 medium size boiled )
- Fresh Coriander ( handful chopped )
- Salt ( to taste )
- Prepared pav bhaji masala ( 2 tsp )
- Kashmiri Red Chilli ( 1 tsp )
- Coriander Powder ( 1 tsp )
- Turmeric powder ( 1/2 tsp )
- Kasuri Methi ( 1 tsp )
- Green Chili Paste ( 2 tsp )
- Prepared Garlic Paste ( 8 tsp )
- Prepared Red Chili Paste ( 8 tsp )
- Water ( hot as needed )
Instructions:
- Take a circular griddle.
- Turns on medium flame, once it heats up add butter, add oil add cumin seeds, and cook it to crackle.
- Add onions and cook till they turn pinkish in color. Now add capsicum and cook for 3 minutes on high flame.
- Add all the boiled and chopped veggies, add salt, add prepared pav bhaji masala, add prepared powdered spices, add prepared green chili paste and mix well. Now, break down all the veggies chunks with the spatula.
- Add prepared chili and garlic paste and mix nicely.
- Add 2 cups of hot water. Use a pav bhaji masher. Mash the bhaji nicely on low flame.
- Mash till the bhaji is almost crushed. Adjust the consistency of the bhaji by adding hot water.
- I love the consistency of my pav bhaji to be a little thin. You can adjust the consistency of your pav bhaji as per your preference.
- The whole process will take 20 minutes. The base of the pav bhaji is ready.
- Let the bhaji on low flame and make the tempering that needs to go on the bhaji.
For Tempering:
Ingredients:
- Butter ( 50 gms )
- Cumin Seed ( a pinch )
- Prepared Red Chili Paste ( 5 tsp )
- Garlic Paste Water ( 3 tsp )
- Pav Bhaji Masala ( 1 tsp )
- Garam Masala ( a pinch )
- Salt ( to taste )
- Fresh Coriander Leaves Chopped ( as you like )
- Lemon Juice ( 1 tsp )
Instructions:
- Take another small circular griddle on medium flame. Add butter, add cumin seeds, add prepared red chili paste, add prepared garlic paste, add pav bhaji masala, add garam masala.
- Cook for 2 minutes on low flame. Add the tempering into the bhaji and mix well.
- Taste salt and add fresh coriander leaves chopped, add butter, add lemon juice and mix nicely.
- Cook for 3 minutes on medium flame.
Your Pav Bhaji is ready to be served.
